About me

Alexandra is an English composer writing music for a variety of musicians across several genres. Her works are illustrative and emotional with lyrical melodies being a key element.

Alexandra’s musical education focussed on performance. Writing was, if anything, discouraged. Not realising composition could be her career, she left music for several years but continued to write for herself. In 2017, Alexandra began sharing songs and house music under pseudonyms (Red As Ruby, lady sar5by) before finally starting to release instrumental music in her own name.

Since September 2023, two of Alexandra’s piano pieces have been on Trinity College London’s piano exam syllabus. Earlier in the year, Alexandra collaborated with filmmaker Kish Daniels to score his film ‘The Other Side’ which was selected for live performance at the Minnesotan Film Score Fest. In 2022, she received 3rd prize in FFM’s international film scoring competition and another work was selected for performance in the Spirit Medley at Birmingham’s 2022 Commonwealth Games Festival. Alexandra has been a finalist in the UKSC and Eon One-Take’s songwriting competitions and her music has been played on BBC Radio 3 and Radio 1 Czechoslovakia.

Alexandra is currently preparing several pieces for publication alongside writing new music.
